Department of Mines & Geology

The Department of Mines and Geology (DMG) Rajasthan, headquartered in Udaipur, is the state government body responsible for the survey, discovery, and administration of mineral resources. It enforces mining laws, grants leases, collects revenue, and ensures eco-friendly mining practices.

The department is broadly divided into two core portfolios:

Mineral Exploration & Research: Conducts surveys, prospecting, and geological mapping for new mineral deposits. It utilizes a core team of geo-scientists, drilling engineers, and modern laboratories (Chemical, Ceramic, and Ore Dressing) to assess deposit viability.

Mineral Administration: Manages state revenues from mining, enforces central legislation like the MMDR Act, and facilitates sustainable mineral development. Link – Department of Mines & Geology
